Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Star Plus)
“Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon” is a love story about the love-hate relationship between Khushi, simple girl from small town and Arnav who is a ruthless man and arrogant business tycoon who thinks he can buy everything with money. This romantic serial premiered in 2011 and the lead actors Kushi (Sanaya Irani) and Arnav (Barun Sobti) win the hearts of the audience and soon became the most favorite couple on TV screens. This show brought them many awards. Since the premiere, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon maintained it’s position among the top 10 dramas on Indian televison.
Pavitra Rishta (Zee TV)
“Pavitra Rishta” is an interesting story focused around the life of middle class families in Mumbai. The lead characters Manav (Hiten Tejwani) and Archana (Ankita Lokhande) get married despite the obstacles, and then get separated. Although the story has many twists, the sacred bond between these two soul mates who are not together, never died and they are still favorite and popular among the audience.

Anandi – a 8 years old child from rural Rajasthan who became bride without her consent, debuted on small screens in 2008 and become a huge hit. Anandi has to accustom to a new family of strangers and learn to be a good wife and daughter in law. But as she grows up, Anandi (Pratyusha Banerjee) decides to fight for her rights in her aristocratic family and faces a new chalenges every day. This story is traditional melodrama, but it’s one of the most popular Hindi daily soaps.
Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (Colors)
Although is relatively new show, “Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon” (started airing on 28 may, 2012 on Colors) become very popular romantic drama. This is the story about a girl, Madhubala who is born on the sets of a Bollywood movie. Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) grows up and becomes very beautiful and simple girl who works in a beauty saloon. RK (Vivian Dsena) is handsome, but arrogant superstar with sad and misterious past. He is sent in jail because of Madhubala and when he leaves the jail he breaks her engagement with Mukund and forces her to marry him in order to take revenge of her.
Punar Vivah (Zee TV)
“Punar Vivah” is soap opera which premiered on 20 february, 2012 and is second most popular show on Zee TV after “Pavitra Rishta”. Set in the city of Bhopal, Punar Vivah tells the story about two complete individuals – Aarti and Yash. Aarti (Gurmeet Choudhary) is divorced and has a son and Yash (Kratika Sengar) is widow with two daughters. Their families want to remarry them, and the popular show focuses on their life after the remarriage.
