Top 5 Rolex Watches Of All Time

All Rolex watches are world-renowned for their impeccable style, quality, and functionality, but some models are more favored than others. Below are the top five Rolex watches of all time.

The Best 5 Rolex Watches Ever

5. GMT – Master

Introduced in 1955 and worn by world-famous flyer Chuck Yaeger, the GMT Master was specially designed for international pilots. The GMT-Master II features a rotatable 24-hour graduated bezel that displays three different time zones, two simultaneously. This model is also waterproof up to 100 metres/330 feet.

Black-dialed, Oyster bracelet versions come in steel, steel and yellow gold, and yellow gold. The Green-dialed Oyster bracelet version comes in yellow gold.

4. President

Although regarded as the Day-Date, with its bracelet style found on the Lady DateJust and Lady DateJust 31, the President is not a definitive model. Yet, it represents the ultimate status symbol among luxury watches and is as recognizable as the Submariner. The President is distinguishable from other Rolex models by its unique bracelet with a distinctive shape and clasp mechanism and is only offered in gold and platinum. Most owners are older, perhaps due to the symbolic, iconic nature of this type and the high price tag.

3. Daytona

Introduced in 1953, The Cosmograph Daytona was specially designed to aid race car drivers in their plight to the finish line. The Daytona contains a tachymetric scale which allows racers to accurately calculate average speed and elapsed circuit time.

These classic models are varied, ranging from white to chocolate dials, Oyster or leather straps, and steel to Everose gold. Rolex’s newest Cosmograph features a golden Oyster bracelet, black-lacquered dial with yellow gold crystal counters, an all-the-colors-of-the-rainbow sapphire bezel, and a case with diamonds set in yellow gold.

2. Submariner

The Submariner is perhaps the most replicated and popular model. Introduced in 1953, it was the first watch to be water-resistant up to 100 metres (330 feet). Later a triple-seal Triplock winding crown was added which allowed newer models to be resistant up to 300 metres (1,000 feet).

The newer but classic-style Submariner features a black dial, Oyster bracelet, and steel case. The Submariner Date line features all characteristics of the Submariner but contains a rapid-setting date on its dial. This line features green, black, or blue dials with Oyster bracelets and either steel, white gold, yellow gold, or steel and yellow gold cases.

1. DateJust

Introduced in 1945, the DateJust was the first watch to have a dial-displayed date through an aperature. A few years later, the Cyclops magnifying eye was added, setting a Rolex design standard.

The newest DateJust models are the Datejust II, the Festive Collection Datejust with 262 diamonds striped across the dial, a Lady-Datejust, and a Datejust Lady 31. The Datejust II emulates the classic steel, masculine Rolex, its defining characteristic being its high performance shock absorbers. The President bracelet Lady DateJust and DateJust Lady 31 feature yellow or white gold dials with certain numerals highlighted by precious stones.
